Hm, now what?

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

Whew, I just made it through about 4 or 5 months of releases. Hard to keep up with all that. Different publishers, different blogs, different yahoo groups. It can be intimidating.

So you know what I did? I just laid low and let the books do their own thing.

However, Friday, June 12th was my last new release for several months - ICE WHITE. I believe Shake Your Moneymaker might not be coming out until September.

And the summer lies in front of me full of possibilities.

If you keep an eye on the bottom of my home page, you can see my ‘works in progress’ section. I’m finally getting back to some of the stories I’ve wanted to write. Although my summer is shaping up to be a busy one, the good news is that because there is little new tv on in the summer months and my DVD player is on the fritz, I likely will be spending a significant amount of my free time in front of my computer.

So what’s on the schedule for me? Right now I’m in the middle of BEEF CAKE 2. Looks like this one is going to have some menage elements to it, if everything works out. This BEEF CAKE series is fun, short, and hot. The first book which was released a week ago is about 16,000 words…looks like the sequel will fit right in there, perhaps even be a tad longer. I just never know.

After that I am going to work on a 4th book in my ARCTIC HEAT series…and if you wanted a longer story with some more plot to it, then you should be happy. This book is going to be darker, with plenty of shifter action! (ahem)

Then, I have a couple other things on my plate, a contemporary erotic which has been stewing in my head for awhile, another book in the DEN OF INIQUITY series (the Sept. release is the first in that series), and I also want to work on a cool story I started called ILLUSION. About a street magician and a sexy mysterious stranger…a paranormal story with some darker elements.

Whew! Not sure how many of these books will get written between now and Labor Day Weekend, but I’m hopeful I can get through at least a few of them.

Wish me luck!

Beef Cake - super hot excerpt!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

All righty, I just checked and my book’s page is ‘live’ on the Siren Publishing site. The official release date for Beef Cake is TOMORROW, but you can check out the link below to read two excerpts from the book…one of which is EXTREMELY hot, so be prepared.

There is a pre-order link…so if you buy today, it should be in your inbox tomorrow. Not bad.

HOT HOT HOT excerpt from Beef Cake!

I’m working on the sequel, which is shaping up to a very fun little story. It’s a hate-to-love kind of thing. With lots of mysterious men conjured using the magical cookbook, 101 Cakes. So if you like a bit of fun & fantasy with your sexy stories, this new little series is definitely right up your alley.

Like a little tying up with your sexy stories? Maybe some domination? And how about menage? Then I think you’ll like this one.

Countdown to another new release

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Being in the middle of a whirlwind of book releases, I looked at the calendar this morning and realized it’s less than two weeks before ARCTIC HEAT 2: ICE RED is available for sale at Cobblestone Press.

ICE RED is another hot, hot menage with some sexy BDSM tossed in there. Plus, the characters are shapeshifters! This story is based in the same world as ICE BLACK and follows the sexual discoveries of Kerry Campbell, an unusual, redheaded shifter who can’t seem to figure out how to access her shapeshifting abilities. But two mysterious dominating strangers show up in her bedroom one night and….

Well, you’ll have to read it to find out!

ICE RED coming to Cobblestone Press on May 15th.

Yogurt Raisins & an Interview

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

First, I must declare my love of Sun-Maid Vanilla Yogurt Raisins. This is not only a great breakfast on the go, but a fantastic snack, and a good dessert replacement when you want something sweet, but don’t want to munch on an apple.

I’ve been eating one box of these raisins every day as I go about my business. For some reason, it makes me feel like I’m indulging myself, even though when I read the box it says “140 calories.” How could that be?

Product placement now over.

On to the interview stuff. On May 9th I will be intervied on the Book Talk with J & J blog. And a free copy of Ice Black will be up for grabs, so don’t miss it!

As we work our way toward summer, I’m trying to get back into writing. The warmer months seem to be more productive writing months for me. Also, I’ve had some personal issues come up over the last couple of months which really threw me for a loop. Still trying to recover. Probably the best answer to my problems right now would be to get writing again. Get back to something I enjoy. But sometimes when you are on that emotional roller coaster, not much seems to get done, you know?

Wish me luck this week on getting back to my writing!

The Countdown Begins…

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I apologize for no American Idol comments this week, but since I don’t see people coming in droves or even making a comment about the show, I wonder if I’m only talking to myself?  LOL. Probably.

I realized today that the release of my novella, THE OPAL HUNTER, is only days away. And I’ve done very little to shout it from the rooftops.

After some disastrous results with promo for books in the past, I guess I decided that I’ll let the readers find me this time. I write a decent book, the readers buy it, and if they like it, they will come back for more.

However, the one kind of promo I will be doing is giving away a copy to a member of my newsletter group!  And right now that number is quite small, so the odds of you winning a freebie are quite high…it’s a good time to join!  There’s a link on the homepage in the sidebar. Check it out.

I don’t overburden my members with loads of announcements, just so you know. Last summer, I decided to go to a quarterly newsletter, and really the only other time I send out things  is on new release days or when a book becomes available on Fictionwise. That’s it. I promise I will not bombard you with crap.

Once I get through this release, I start rolling through four more book releases in the next three months. Crazy crazy!

Shake Your Moneymaker - DONE!

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

I just finished the first draft of my bank robber/coyote shifter tale. Whew!  That book lingered on a little too long.

Right now the word count hovers around 20K. We’ll see what happens when I do a good edit.

Other bits of news:

* Got my editor assignment for the third book in my Arctic Shifters series - ICE WHITE

* Have an idea for the Nocturne Bites contest on eHarlequin.com

* Waiting anxiously to find out if I have a release date coming up for THE OPAL HUNTER.

Kiss & Spell now on sale!

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Just a quick post to let you know my paranormal witch story, Kiss & Spell, is now on sale at Noble Romance!

I didn’t have time yesterday to post an excerpt, so I will be doing that this morning. Check back later today for a peek at Kiss & Spell on my Excerpts page.

This novella is actually part of an anthology for the “Child of the Week” series at Noble Romance. Each author chose a day of the week from the famous poem. Below is the poem with links to the authors who are participating in this with me and their books (which are all soon to be released…I’m the first one in the series):

Monday’s child is fair of face, (me)

Tuesday’s child is full of grace, (Mina Carter)
Wednesday’s child is full of woe, (L. Shannon)

Thursday’s child has far to go, (Dee Carney)
Friday’s child is loving and giving, (Moira Rogers)

Saturday’s child must work for a living, (Summer Alan)

But the child that’s born on the Sabbath Day is fair and wise and good and gay. (Lex Valentine)

Make sure to check them all out. Some amazing authors and stories in this group!

Trying my best…

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

After a long day yesterday, I received MORE edits to do…so I had no time to work on my website and the hideous “My Books” page. Hopefully, by this evening or tomorrow, I will have the time to fix everything.

But I’m seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. This will be book number 4 out of 6. Whew. I might even have the energy to work on NEW stuff soon. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Luckily, the last two things on my plate are relatively short, and it looks like both of them will be coming out in June. A bit of breathing room there.

I suppose, though, that soon I will have to be worrying about promoting all these edited books…hmmm…

Considering sales don’t seem to change much no matter how much promo I do, maybe I’ll just try not to worry about that stuff and let the audience find me.

So wish me luck today. More edits to do. I’m hoping my mouse hand doesn’t wear out from all the clicking and accepting of changes.

The Opal Hunter - cover art & excerpt!

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

I got my cover art today for The Opal Hunter, and I LOVE it. Another fabulous cover…this one is almost exactly how I pictured it. Check it out!

I also have added the excerpt for this book on my Excerpts page. Go check it out. I’m thinking I will be getting a pub date soon. Whoo-hoo!
